Andy is one of the worlds top Ultra-Coaches with many elite runners from both Australia and around the world on his books. He has has articles featured in magazines in Australia, Hong King UK and the US and on podcasts such as Trail Runner Nation.
He brings a very scientific approach to training and is always ahead of the game in terms of the latest research as it applies to ultra running. Understanding that ultra-running is more than just physical he spends a lot of time really getting to know his clients so he can help develop the mental side of training without which great results aren’t possible. He doesn’t just work with elites, and takes as much satisfaction helping athletes just make the cut-offs to finish races they barely dreamt was possible.
Andy is 100% committed in all that he does and leaves no stone unturned in helping clients achieve the best result possible. With extensive experience in Personal Training, Injury Rehab and Nutrition he is one of the most complete Ultra – coaches anywhere in the world.
He comes from a background of an award-winning Personal Trainer and elite endurance athlete with a passion for helping people get the most out of their lives. He is highly regarded as a lecturer, presenter, coach and trainer by both clients and peers alike. He started out as a very successful Personal Trainer but his passion for endurance sports particularly running has lead to him specialise in running and particularly ultra running.
Andy started personal training in 1995 and started Ironman Triathlon coaching in 1997 before moving into run coaching in 2005. He has written extensively in magazines such as Asia Trail, Running Free, R4YL among others and spoken on podcast like Trail Runner Nation a number of times. His aim with Mile 27 is to provide the most complete training service for ultra-runners available anywhere in the world.

Andy has a passion for extreme endurance events. In recent years he placed 8th in the Yurrebilla 56km Trail Race in Adelaide, won the 46km Freedom Trail Race in the Nightcap National Park, completed the Great North Walk 100 mile event in 30 hours 10 minutes and the 6 Foot Track race in 4 hours 23 minutes. In 2010 he won the 114- mile Hardmoors Ultramarathon, represented Australia in the 2009 World Trail Running Championships in the French Alps, won the 2008 Pennine 100 mile Challenge, breaking the course record by 4.5 hours, in 2007 finished in the top 3 per cent in the iconic 100- mile Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc and in 2005 finished his first Ultramarathon the 95 mile West Highland Way Race.
Before he moved to London he completed the Australian Ironman Triathlon – a race involving 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and a 42.2km run seven times with a personal best of 9 hours 19 minutes. including a marathon split of 3:03. Twice he qualified for and finished the gruelling Hawaiian Ironman World Championships.
Andy moved back to Australia in 2011 continues to train and compete, constantly looking for new challenges to inspire him. The drive and motivation that allows him to compete in these types of races is evident in the drive and passion he has for helping his clients. No stone is left unturned in his quest to help people reach beyond what they believe possible.
