You didn’t get into ultras because it was easy. And somewhere between signing up and the start line, most athletes realise they need more than just a generic training plan — they need someone who actually understands what this distance demands.
Maybe you’re stepping up in distance and the noise out there is deafening. Maybe you keep fading in the back half and you know you’re capable of more. Maybe you just want to know your training is actually preparing you for race day — not just making you tired.
Before we write a single session, we want to know everything — where you’re at, what your race demands, how running fits around your life.
At Mile 27, coaching is delivered through a structured system developed by Head Coach Andy and implemented across a small team of performance-focused coaches. Whether you work directly with Andy or one of the Mile 27 coaches, you’re working within the same philosophy, principles, and performance standards.
The systems behind that process have been built over years — refined across thousands of athletes from back of the pack to world championship podiums, recognised by the sport’s leading publications, and now forming the foundation of our coach education and certification pathway.
We’ve learned that most of what limits performance in an ultra isn’t fitness. It’s the gap between generic training and what you actually need for that race. Every training decision we make starts there.
Wherever you are in your ultra journey — welcome to the team.
