Scotty Hawker is a name that is well known in the ultra running community. Having only been involved in trail and ultra running for a few years he earned an impressive 12th place in the 2014 Ultra Trail World Tour overall rankings. Although fairly new to ultras, sports and running have always played an important part in Scotty’s life. He ran his first marathon at the age of 17 and has competed in triathlon and multisport events, including the New Zealand Duathlon Championships in 2005.
Having been coached by Andy DuBois since 2013 Scotty immediately experienced the benefits of having a structured, race-specific, personalised training plan. He joined the Mile 27 team as a coach in order to help others on their journey to achieving their running ambitions and goals. Scotty’s dedication to being the best athlete he can be also carries over to his coaching. As well as relying on his experience as an elite athlete he continues to expand his knowledge in order to provide his clients with the most up-to-date, scientific and specific training possible.
Hearing the success stories and tales from the trails is what motivates him to continue striving to be the best coach he can be.
